I will admit, this hysteria over the Swine Flu certainly has me concerned regarding not only life in general but life on vacation during something like this. There are so many things to worry about these days and there are so many diseases 'out there' so why is this so huge? It's new, it's different and it's killing people.
Almost a hundred people in a city of about what, 21 million? How is that huge? 20 confirmed cases in the US - all mild, all fully recovered and only one hospitalized? Huge? How? I suppose because it's just started - what to be expected in the weeks to come? Should we even still go to Disney?
Move over ebola and mesothelioma - here's the swine flu!

Well folks the doctor's office called me and told me my pinky toe is indeed fractured. Who knew? Ha! Guess I should have paid more attention to what the doctor was telling me when she was explaining to me why she thought it was broken but I was too busy looking at her very unique lab coat instead. I really thought it was only badly bruised or sprained but nope, it's broken!
Oh well, off to Disney with a broken toe! Hahaaaaa

I can't seem o loose those last few pounds I wanted to loose before vacation. I've been reading Colonix reviews and wow, that sure doesn't seem the way to go.
Although I've heard cleansing your colon will definitely make you a few pounds lighter, I'd love to know what products are most effective for this?

I have just spent 2 hours of my life at the doctor's office and then across the hall in Xray and I don't know anymore than I did before I got there.
No shit...the doctor looked at it, felt around the base of my toe and the side of my foot and asked if it hurt where she was feeling. Nope. She touched my toe and I whimpered. She told me toes heal within 3-4 weeks and that unless it's broken by the joint, there's really nothing to be done. If it is broken by the joint I could possibly need to see a podiatric surgeon.
With that being said, she sent me to xray and told me that I didn't need to stick around. She said she'd read the films today and call me if there was concern. My appt. was at 2pm and it's now past 5:30pm - I haven't heard from her.
She told me to just wear comfortable shoes and take Ibuprofen or Advil and that was that.
Well gee, somehow I KNEW this was going to be the case but I was being told I needed to get it checked and it could be broken and there could be possible infection...soooo, I went. While all of that was true, I could have wound up in a bad situation, so far it looks as if there's no problem at all.
I was telling Jeff's neighbor about my ordeal - he sells insurance so of course all he could talk about was the great insurance lead he's gotten recently. This discussion was supposed too be all about Meeeeeee, not his work!

Well, now my tooth doesn't hurt so much...but my damn pinky toes does. SOMETHING is trying to sabotage my Disney vacation, I just know it!
I jammed my toe on the hutch we have in our dining room. I saw stars...no wait, more than stars, I saw the whole fucking Universe. I said every curse word I knew, even made some up. What? That makes me feel better, I don't know why but screaming, "FUCKINGDAMNITSONOFAFUCKINGBITCHSHIT!" made the pain go away, for a moment.

So, here is my beeeeutifuuulll toe:

Actually, not too bad, eh? Nice shade of green going on there. I did call my family doctor and I made an appointment for Monday at 2pm. I figure by then the swelling and bruising should be more on the 'normal' side for this type of injury. I am sure I will have xrays done. I am betting it isn't broken, just badly bruised, but what do I know...
On the upside, I planned on wearing sandals and flip flops on my trip anyway and it doesn't hurt when I wear those - AND - I just may get some prescription pain meds out of this...that will take care of my toe and my tooth! Ha!
Always look on the bright side...everthing happens for a reason...

I decided that there are too many 'what if's' when it come to having oral surgery right before going on vacation. Yes, the pain I currently have is something to consider but at least it's a pain I am used to. The unknown pain I am sure I will have is something I am just not willing to endure. So, I have rescheduled my surgery for Thursday May 14th.
In the meantime, there is so much I need to do before we leave for vacation. We will be driving to Florida and the trip down will be non stop. We'll be leaving as soon as Olivia gets home from school (around 4pm) and between Zyon and I, we will do this trip in one shot. When he's tired of driving, I'll drive. He prefers driving at night so this will be easy.
Coming home will suck as we will leave Florida in the morning and I am sure by evening we'll all be tired and want to stop at a hotel for the night - making the trip home a 2 dayer.
I am determined to get all of my projects for work done by the end of this weekend so I have all next week to plan the details of the trip, clean the house, do laundry, pack and just relax before we go! I probably should check out what the best diet pills are and make sure I have some to take on vacation with me - need soemthing to curb the appetite, there's so much good food in WDW!
If you're interested to see how this trip goes, check out my Family Disney Vacations blog - I will be posting updates with photos while we are there!

About 4 years ago I noticed my bottom left molar was cracked. I had it fixed by my dentist. About 6 months later it started to crack again but this time a small piece broke off. So, I went to the dentist and he sent me for a root canal and then built up the tooth temporarily so I could get a cap or a crown (I can't even remember which now, I think they're pretty much the same thing?) but of course my dental insurance would not cover that part of the procedure and so I was in the process of saving ohh, about $850 to have this done.In the meantime, I got pregnant with Dante, then 6 months after I had Dante, I got pregnant with Wyatt so the dental work was put on hold but it was okay because my dentist had (temporarily) fixed it and it wasn't giving me trouble. That is, until about 6 months ago. Believe me, I was surprised it held up as long as it did! It actually broke apart while I was eating...spaghetti! Hahahaaaaa
Okay, well, back to saving. At that point I just wanted it pulled but my dentist tried to talk me out of that. He gave me reasons, if it was pulled my other teeth would move, blah blah bah...I still wanted it pulled - however, at that time, I had no dental insurance at all.
I waited until this month because this month I was finally able to be placed on Zyon's insurance. Now I have dental so I contacted my oral surgeon, the one who pulled my wisdom teeth years ago and I find out my insurance will cover the cost of removing the tooth - yay!
Here's the dilemma - the earliest they can get me in is April 22nd - we leave for vacation April 28th. Since this has gone on so long, I am not sure what the extent of the procedure will be. I opted to be awake and just have Novocaine. I know they will take xrays and then determine what needs to be done but I am betting on a surgical extraction.
So, do I have this done on the 22nd or do wait until we get back from vacation?
Having it done on the 22nd could mean no more pain - well, no more pain from the molar but I could have pain from the procedure. If everything goes well, I could have the tooth out, be on antibiotics and have a prescription for the pain. Swelling and bruising should be gone, right?
OR
It could more of a procedure than I anticipate, heck the tooth next to it could need work by now. What if there are complications? What if it's determined I should be under anesthesia for this? I don't do well under anesthesia and usually require at least a full day to recover.
So if I have this done on a Wednesday - it can take a few days to notice if anything is wrong (infection, dry socket, etc) and by the weekend I notice a problem (if there is one) which means it won't be until that Monday I (hopefully) get back to the dentist/oral surgeon and then leave on Tuesday??? Okay I know this is a extreme example but it could happen!
If I don't have it done, I live with the pain, which has gotten worse over the last 2 weeks. I take a full supply of Advil and Anbesol with me on the trip. The plus to this? I deal with the pain I am already used to and I don't have to worry about the 'what ifs' of surgery. Plus, will admit, having people in lab coats coming at me to do a surgical procedure is definitely something I am more than happy to put off!
Advice? Suggestions?
Well, I saw it on the news last night. As soon as I heard the voice, I knew who it was - Linda Brown. She sold a puppy to Joe Biden back in Dec. 2008 - and to one of his secret service guys. Suddenly all sorts of things went wrong for her at the kennel she owns. Why does this matter to me? I have personally been to Linda's place numerous times. I took my dogs to her for obedience training. I left my dogs with her when I went on vacation. I would never place my animals in the care of an irresponsible person or in the middle of poor conditions.
Linda's place rocks. All the dogs have access to indoors and outdoors. They have indoor swimming pools. Lots of land as well. Linda is kind to all the animals. She is not a horrible, irresponsible 'puppy mill' owner. She takes her line of work seriously. She gets her breeding stock from Germany and each dog costs her anywhere form $5,000 - $10,000; so yea, I'd have to say she views her line of work as important.
After the story about the puppy sale ran in the newspapers and on TV newscasts, three dog wardens from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture showed up at her place for a kennel inspection, constantly, for four months. She said she has also received death threats from animal activists against her and Biden, which were reported to the Secret Service and the FBI.
Linda got cited, she was cited for record-keeping problems and warned about maintenance and sanitation shortfalls by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Basically, she was cited for a piece of kibble on the floor and five strands of dog hair. Linda disputes all the items where she was written up. Her case was heard by District Justice James DeAngelo in South Coventry on March 31 st and she was found "not guilty" for each citation.
Of course, I know much more than I'd ever post on my blog because it's not my place to blab about the sorted details surrounding all this bullshit, but let me just say, it is total BULLSHIT
I have defended her and I will continue to do so - end of story.
I was given a promotion at work! I am the Social Media manager for the company I work for and now I am also an Account manager! This is very exciting for me! Yesterday was hectic for me as I was just being given all the details and learning the ins and outs of the new job. Zyon was sweet enough to man the kids and make dinner! His specialty, chicken broccoli alfredo - yum!
Today, he went grocery shopping and mowed the lawn. Yes, I said MOWED THE LAWN! Did Spring finally arrive??? The boys are all resting now, Wyatt is in there somewhere!

So, while they're napping I'm off to find places such as this Newport Rhode Island wedding make-up specialty shop for this wedding I'm helping to plan.

Yea, that's me lately...it's been crazy around here and why do I always feel like I am saying that? I supose because I am always saying that. GAH...
These past few weeks have consisted of remodeling the boys' room, celebrating Olivia's birthday, looking at these cool mens wedding bands as I have been helping a bride to be plan a wedding, thanks to my new blog, Weddings Showers and More - shopping and planning for our next Disney trip, which by the way, I have a blog for that too - Family Disney Vacations - oh, and I've been working!
If all that isn't enough, I need to have a molar removed this month! This thing has been giving me trouble for years. I've had a root canal in preparation for a cap or crown to be put on this damn tooth. Then I got pregnant with Dante...6 months after I had him, got pregnant with Wyatt. Then I lost my insurance. Not like that really mattered since the dental work was considered 'cosmetic' but I digress.
So now this tooth hurts so bad that I get an earache on a regular basis. I am popping Motrin like candy. no way am I gong to be able to make it the rest of this month without getting this taken care of. I say just freaking pull it! I didn't bother calling my dentist, he never wanted to pull it in the first place, I just called the oral surgeon who removed my wisdom teeth years ago. My appointment is on April 22nd - less than a week before we leave for vacation! I really hope all goes well...

A friend of mine on Facebook posted this. I checked it out and honestly, this is the dumbest thing I have read in a long time.
The site is 'Think before you speak' and while I agree with that age old adage, isn't it the context of the word more so than the actual word itself people need to 'think' about before they open their mouth? I mean, come on! There are words listed on this site that are just plain stupid - apparently just about every word is offensive in some way, so what CAN we say?
In fact, doesn't 'gay' mean 'happy'? So why does it suddenly have anything to do with same sex relationships? Whose word was that first anyway?
Look, I am completely for the stopping of bullying, name calling and harassment that goes on in schools - it is absolutely unnecessary. However, creating a site such as this only eggs offenders on, in my opinion, which makes it more 'fun' to them, to harass.
Not to mention, things such as tolerance, proper etiquette, and just plain having manners, needs to be taught at home.
