When we first moved in, before doing anything, we had our basement water managed. We have an irrigation system that takes any water that comes in through the brick to a sump pump and back out.We made sure the entire basement was studded out far enough that the brick still has room to breathe. We used greenboard drywall because it has a pretty decent water-resistant paper covering. We used rubber molding too. Even most of the furniture is up off the ground. So, if for some reason the pump fails and we do get water in the basement, we will have easy fixes.

The best way to make sure a bathroom is a relaxing experience is to create an environment where people can take care of business and not have to worry about cleaning up after, both themselves and the toilet area. The best way to do that is with hand bathroom bidet sprayers. With these people won't have to worry about running out of toilet paper or even about making a mess, they can just spray it all away and no one will know. The ultimate bathroom retreat is not complete without a bidet or better yet....a hand bathroom bidet sprayer. The hand sprayer gives you superior control and water volume and if the bathroom was not designed to allow for a bidet(the majority of them) it offers the convenience of installation on the existing toilet AND you don't have to get up and move every time! You will pay for it many times over in toilet paper savings which also makes this a very green thing to do. Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com.
Dude, thanks for the infomercial - hope this comment gets ya lots of business - I, on the other hand, dn' think my kids need to use a bidet...

Not a bidet, a hand bidet sprayer = vastly superior. You don't think your
kids need to be clean and sanitary? They do wash their hands don't they, and
especially after using the toilet correct? But they don't need to be clean
down there? Interesting.
Uhhh, yea....that's what flushable wipes are for.

Your basement rocks! They guys did an awesome job, I'm so jealous!
How much did you end up spending?
Between carpet, materials (paint, trim, drywall, etc..) having a plumber move pipes, furniture and paying our contractor for doing the job, the total was close to $6,000

I personally am surprised with the color choice. I would've thought it would've been alot darker.
