People actually came down hard on me about this - I am amused.

Last week I decided to leave Entrecard - and I listed my reasons. I did not do that to make some huge deal out of myself. I realize most people don't give a shit what I have on the sidebar of my blog(s) or whether or not I am part of the Entrecard community.

I 'announced' it because I had decided to leave Entrecard right then and there but it takes a bit for them to actually remove you from the system. I hate when I surf Ecard and come across blogs that no longer have widgets on them. It's frustrating to scroll up and down and up and down looking for a widget - especially when you realize there isn't one there. I didn't want people to have that happen to them on my blogs, so I made an entry about my decision.

After doing so, I realized I missed the networking. I mean, all the things I said I hated about Ecard are still true - for me - but the fact that I quickly noticed I sort of depended upon Ecard as a way to find new blogs and meet some really great bloggers. So, I went back.

At first I was only going to use Ecard on my newer blogs as a way to promote them and get initial readers. That didn't last long and I've decided to put the widget back on all my blogs. Yes, it's crap for traffic when you consider the bounce rate, it could even be considered 'spammy' - in fact it is to some people.

Well, what else am I going to do with my blogs? At this point I don't use them for advertising, no affiliate marketing - so I don't need to worry about my blog being rejected by some company I hope to make money from. I don't use Adsense, so I don't need to worry about being penalized by Google. Will I loose page rank? I dunno, only a few of my blogs have page rank anyway.

It has come down to the fact that I missed the interaction. I must say I am actually shocked at the amount of emails I have gotten from people telling me to 'make up my mind' or that they won't be dropping on my blog(s) anymore!

Whoa, guess I really am that important? Hahahaaa...
